Leila arrived in the United States from the Philippines in the late 1970’s and obtained her citizenship on May 5, 1982. She has been working as a Registered Nurse for almost 40 years and is currently employed at Saint Luke’s North. Throughout her career, she has been very involved in professional and outreach organizations. As a Past President, Leila serves on the Board of the Philippine Nurses Association of Greater Kansas City as one of the Advisory Council, as well as the Secretary for the World Outreach Foundation of Kansas City. She is also a member with the Emergency Nurses Association. In donating her time doing community outreach, she serves locally with Homeless Clinic of the World Outreach Foundation, providing medical care to medically uninsured. Leila also participates in global medical missions twice a year, serving the Philippines and one time in Cambodia.

Financial wellness is very important to Leila, and she feels that with hard work and determination, you can obtain whatever you want in life. Leila has always felt her life is blessed. She feels strongly that you must share what you have now, while you have time, because you can’t take it with you. There are a lot of people that are doing less with what they have, which is why she has always felt compelled to give back to the community, both locally and globally.

The role of a caretaker has been prominent in her life, through her career as a nurse and with her family. Leila has one son who is the love of her life. After losing her husband in 2007, Leila earned her Master’s Degree and has been devoting more time to her professional organizations. Leila continues to inspire those that she meets, and is continuously amazing us at Advanced Financial Solutions LLC.
